2012 Prairie Fest April (4:00 pm to 8:00 pm)

April's Prairie Fest was the largest of the three 'Fests held in 2012, in part because it was held on the same Saturday as for previous years .. and in part because the group "Brave Combo" was playing. Brave Combo is a very popular Grammy-Award winning group.

Waiting patiently.
Early arrivals before the 'Fest.

The bagpipe music held everyone's attention.

A rare site. Mike Renner's solar equipment, and no people. (This was two hours before the 'Fest opening.)

Dan's "Solar Shuttle" and early-arriving attendees.
Mike's LED light pole to the right provided a surprising amount of illumination after sundown.
2012042810.png
"Windy" was an understatement. Look at the kite pole bending!
2012042812.png
Prairie Fest visitors were treated to free guided tours of the Tandy Natural Area. This is the tour starting area.
2012042813.png
Prairie Fest is a very family-friendly event!
2012042814.png
The wind was helpful in creating giant soap bubbles. The children loved it!

When Brave Combo begins playing...
2012042804.png
.. the audience changes from listeners ...
2012042819.png
.. into dancers! Look at the crowd!
2012042806.png
Even after many different songs, people were still dancing!
2012042815.png
Late in the afternoon. Still windy. Still more giant bubbles!
2012042803.png
Another rare sight! Mike and his solar equipment aren't mobbed. Visitors were busy enjoying the music!

Winding down....
